The DI-2 system is a modular concept based on the “building blocks” principle. This means that cubicles are produced in series. Consequently, in a rational, economically sustainable way, the modular DI-2 design meets the highest technical requirements. The combination in cubicles is infinite. Through this broad range of possibilities, very complex distribution and transformer switchgear diagrams can be compiled. Our DI-2 GIS solution can always be expanded, compartmentalized and can support up to 36 kv.

A wide range of applications are provided by the DI-2 cubicles and can be used in many industries worldwide. Distribution and dispersion switchgear, electrical substations and medium voltage engines, wind generators, cogeneration, and much more can be used with DI-2 cubicles. 

For all your needs and specifications, the DI-2-concept offers a solution: it can replace obsolete installations and improve existing installations, and it is also ideally suited for brand new constructions. Therefore, it is important to know that the semi-compact cubicles are particularly useful if the space available is an issue or if economic factors play an important role. Moreover, it is designed to extend the lifespan of your switchboard and ensure the operator’s safety.

Provided with a powerful triple-phase load break switch RV-36, class E3 according to IEC 62271-103 and SF6-insulation. It has an integrated interlocked earthing switch with making capacity up to 50 kA. The modular design of DI-2 makes it possible to create rational, economical and custom-made combinations of medium voltage cubicles (with a rated voltage 36 kV). Moreover, this system is equipped with cable support, door interlock and sockets for capacitive voltage detector with parallel testing possibility (HR/LR). Lastly, it contains a low-voltage compartment. This system guarantees both the safety of the operator as well as the installation itself.

Internal Arc resistance

An internal arc can be formed by a short-circuit or another malfunction. In a classic MV cubicle, an internal arc could significantly damage the installation and severely injure the operator and electrocute him or her. SGC aims to protect its users and operators with built-in ARC-killers.

The DI-2 is designed to withstand internal arcs, shielding both the installation and the operator. The internal arc is confined to the compartment where it originated, via a strategic pressure release system, and does not spread to the operator or to other compartments.

The DF-2 cubicle anti-arc kit is explicitly intended to minimize the impacts of an internal arc. By default, with overpressure valves pointing downward, all provided cubicles are fitted on the rear side. In addition, all cubicles from SGC – SwitchGear Company are internal arc resistant.

The DF-2 cubicles were checked for 20 kA/1s at KEMA IAC (AFL) and 17,5 kV/24kV rated voltage according to IEC 62271-200, Appendix A, and met the 5 criteria.
