Deze schakelaars zijn &#8220;verzegeld voor het leven&#8221; en vereisen minimaal onderhoud. Ook is de schakelaar voorzien van een ge\u00efntegreerde aardingsschakelaar in de behuizing van de lastscheidingsschakelaar. Het modulaire koperen barenstel is bestand tegen een druk van 630A. Het slimme modulaire ontwerp van de DF-3 maakt het mogelijk rationele, economische en op maat gemaakte combinaties te maken van middenspanningscellen (met nominale spanning van 12, 17,5 of 24 kV). De DF-3 cel is ook voorzien van vergrendelde, verwijderbare deuren. Door een zeer uitgekiend systeem van drukontlasting blijft de lichtboog beperkt tot het compartiment waar hij is ontstaan en propageert hij zich niet naar de operator of naar andere compartimenten.<\/p>\n<p>Een kortsluiting of een ander defect kan een interne lichtboog veroorzaken. Als er in een klassieke MS-cel een lichtboog ontstaat, kan dit een zware beschadiging aan de installatie opleveren, waarbij de operator zelfs letsels en elektrocutie kan oplopen. Met ingebouwde arc-killers wil SGC zijn gebruikers en operators beschermen.<\/p>\n<p>De<strong> antiboogkit van DF-3 cellen <\/strong>is speciaal ontworpen om de<strong> gevolgen van een interne lichtboog tot een minimum te beperken<\/strong>.
