A Factory Acceptance Test, or FAT for short, is an important step prior to the delivery of medium-voltage switchgear. During this test, we work with the customer to verify that the installation meets the technical specifications, applicable standards, and project requirements.

SGC recently welcomed representatives from Sécheron and Infrabel to our site for a Factory Acceptance Test.

During this FAT, the installation was inspected step by step. Both the electrical and mechanical functions were tested. In addition, the settings, safety features, and interlocks were checked. The results were discussed with the customer, and technical questions were answered.

Close collaboration among all parties involved played a key role in this. Open communication, technical expertise, and a shared focus on quality ensure that projects move forward in a clear and efficient manner.

Alexandre Kubler of Sécheron emphasized that SGC has succeeded in designing the switching equipment in accordance with Infrabel’s requirements.

Mathieu Rosillon of Infrabel also highlighted the benefits of working with a Belgian company, including for the FAT, after-sales service, and the close collaboration between Infrabel, Sécheron, and SGC.

A FAT is more than just a final technical inspection. It is also an important opportunity for collaboration, during which all parties involved work together to verify that the installation is ready for the next step.
