The focus for the product lies on safety, functionality and the robust and compact design. When it comes to safety, the AF-6+ is equipped with an integrated arc-killer, short circuit indicator and a compact three position load break switch. All these safety measures are integrated in the earthed and touch-proof design. Moreover, it’s a monobloc concept and gas insulated.
The AF-6+ has many functions to make this a practical product. It has switching operation on the top, for easy servicing. It also comes with manual and remote operation and with a straightforward synoptic diagram. Lastly, there are cable test plugs for dielectric cable testing.
The AF-6+ is a monobloc concept with small dimensions: 1100 x 600 x 1900 (width x depth x height). Therefore, it is important to know that the compact substations are particularly useful if the space available is an issue or if economic factors play an important role. A robust design is ensured due to a concrete cable cellar and the medium voltage cables which are pre-mounted and factory tested. Moreover, it is designed to extend the lifespan of your switchboard and ensure the operator’s safety. The AF-6+ is built to last.

Equipped with a robust two-position load break switch RV-44 (open or closed), that is sealed for life. Can withstand a pressure of 800 A and optional 1250 A (double busbar system). DF-2 ’s modular design allows you to create rational, economical & custom-made combinations of medium voltage cubicles (with a rated voltage 12,17 or 24 kV). The position of the load break switch is clearly indicated in the single line diagram. The position can be controlled at all times, not only by the synoptic but also through the two inspection windows integrated in the front door of the cubicles. This kind of load break switch has large contacts and can withstand the voltage with pressure.
Integrated Arc-killer
An internal arc can be formed by a short-circuit or another malfunction. In a classic MV cubicle, an internal arc could significantly damage the installation and severely injure the operator and electrocute him or her. SGC aims to protect its users and operators with built-in ARC-killers.
The AF-6+ is equipped with an integrated arc-killer on incomers and feeders, shielding both the installation and the operator.
The AF-6+ RMU is fully compatible with IEC standards. Consequently, all SGC – SwitchGear Company cubicles are internal arc resistant.
